Abstract:
This research tackles the beginning of the democratic movement in the Arab Gulf region . Moreover, it sheds light on the most important circumstances and factors behind spreading the democratic thoughts and principles .
The governing political parties in the Arab Gulf were characterized ( before discovering oil ) by the domination of the tribe leader (Sheikh) (or dynasties later on) and monopolizing the political and economic key positions on account of internal and external circumstances as well as factors .
In fact, the social and political reality in the Arab Gulf witnessed a great change as a result of many factors first of which the influence of the modern Arab renaissance and the spreading of the educational and cultural institutions a matter which greatly contributed to the emergence of reforming calls working , as a part of their aims , to spread the democratic principles and concepts and apply them in the Gulf societies . It began in Kuwait , Bahrain and Dubai to form the first features of the democratic life in the Arab Gulf .
