Abstract
The aim of the research is to identify:
1- The effect of a proposed training program according to the cross-sectional method and the method used in developing some functional and skill variables among handball players.
2- The differences between the cross method and the method used in developing some functional and skill variables among handball players.
The experimental method was used to suit the nature of the research, and the research sample was determined from handball players in the Al-Hashd Club, the youth category, as they were selected by a simple random method and were divided into two experimental and control groups. As for the research tool, it represented some functional and skill variables in handball, and the availability of homogeneity was confirmed. And parity between the two research groups in the research variables. The training program lasted for a period of eight weeks. After completing the implementation of the program and applying the post-tests, the data was collected and processed using appropriate statistical methods represented by the t-test for independent samples and correlated samples and extracting the effect size. A set of conclusions were reached, including :-
The size of the effect of the training program based on the cross-training method was better and to a large degree compared to the training method followed in all skill and functional variables except for the variables (vo2max and fatigue index), as the size of the effect of the training program based on the cross-training method was better and to a small degree compared to the training method. The follower.
The study recommended emphasizing the use of the cross-training method as better than the method used in developing specific functional and skill variables.
