Abstract
This research deals with the role of the leadership of Al- Kaysia, Zufar Ibin Al- harth Al- Killaby. This role is represented by the stand of Al- Kaysia tribes from the Umayyad caliphate in Al-Jazeera Al- Furatia region from Marj Rahit battle in 64/AH and including the period which starts from the caliphate of Abid-Almalik Ibin Marwan (65-85/AH).
The research focuses on studying the personality and the social status of Zufar and his role before Marj Rahit battle and what fallows after the failure of Al- Kaysia tribes who were proponents of Abid Allah Ibin Al- Zubair and the attempts of the caliphate Abid Al- Malik Ibin Marwan to make him under his control through military or peaceful ways.
The research also deals with the military struggle in Al- Jazeera Al- Furatia region between Al- Kaysia, leaded by Zufar and Umayer Ibin Al- Habhab, and Al- Yamania tribes.
The struggle then extended to Bany Taghlib tribes inhabiting in the regions neighboring Al- kaysia. Finally, the caliphates succesded in creating a quiet situation by making reconcilement among the tribes and Abid-Al-Malik began to pay blood money for those who have been killed from the struggling tribes and his plan succeeded in making the situation quiet or calm.
