Abstract
The research aim’s to identify the impact of the (SQ3R) strategy on the achievement of Fourth grade literary students in geography, the total number of the sample reached (41); (20) students for the experimental group and (21) students for the control group. The process of equivalence between the two groups in some variables, they are:(age in months, the general average of the student for the third intermediate grade, achievement in geography for the third intermediate grade, intelligence quotient, Parents' educational level), Theresearcher prepared an achievement test instrument in the subject of the foundations of geography and its techniques, After applying the achievement test and the geography literacy scale for the two research groups, data were collected and statistically analyzed using the (Mann-Whitney) test, and the results was that there is a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0,05) between the mean scores of the achievement test for the experimental and control groups, And for the benefit of the experimental group students, according to the results of the research, the researcher concluded the effectiveness of teaching using the (SQ3R) strategy in middle and high schools in the city of Mosul, and to complement the current research, the researcher suggests conducting more studies, such as the effect of the (SQ3R) strategy on the achievement of fifth grade literary students and the development of their environmental awareness, conducting a similar study to the current study dealing with the same variables on other subjects like History or Arabic language.
