Abstract

The Ptolemaic family, also known as the Ptolemaic dynasty, arrived in Egypt in November 332 BC with an army led by Alexander the Great.  The needs of domestic markets and win foreign markets.  The Ptolemies became famous for their foreign trade, and one of the reasons for commercial activity was to control most of the countries located on the shores. Ptolemy the First took control of Syria, Palestine, Cyprus and the Aegean Sea. His policy then directed to control the Red Sea.
