Academic achievement motivation in terms of sports culture and future perceptions of students of the Faculty of Physical Education in the universities of the Middle Euphrates

Abstract

The aim of this study was to:
Identify the academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations of students
 in the Physical Education Colleges at universities in Al-Furat Al-Awsat region.
Examine the relationship between academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations among students in the Physical Education Colleges at universities in Al-Furat Al-Awsat region.
Develop an equation to predict academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations among students in the Physical Education Colleges at universities in Al-Furat Al-Awsat region.
The researchers employed a survey method to explore these variables and used correlational analysis to examine their relationships. The research population consisted of fourth-year students in the Physical Education and Sports Science colleges at Al-Furat Al-Awsat universities, totaling 270 students. A sample of 100 students was selected using a purposive sampling technique (37.03% of the population), and measures were administered to assess the variables. Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS version 17.
The findings of this study indicate the following main conclusions:
Students in the Physical Education and Sports Science colleges at Al-Furat Al-Awsat universities exhibit a good level of academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations.
There is a significant positive correlation between academic achievement motivation and both sports culture and future aspirations among students in these colleges.
It is possible to predict academic achievement motivation based on the values of sports culture and future aspirations among students in these colleges.
Based on the results and conclusions of this research, the following recommendations were made:
Utilize measures of academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations to assess and guide students in the Physical Education and Sports Science colleges at Al-Furat Al-Awsat universities.
Incorporate these measures in educational and psychological counseling interventions to foster
 academic achievement motivation, sports culture, and future aspirations among students.
Provide quality lectures and guidance by sport psychology experts during educational units and
 teaching to enhance students' academic motivation and sports culture.
