The Effect of Using Color, Icon, Image Strategy on Science Achievement for Fifth Primary Pupils and the Development of their Visual thinking Skills

The current research aims at knowing the effect of color, symbol, and image on the achievement of fifth graders in science and their visual thinking skills. The experimental design with two equal groups, one experimental and the other control, was used. The size of the research sample was (60) students, with (30) students in the experimental group and (30) students in the control group, and the parity between the two research groups was done in the following variables: The degree of intelligence , the chronological age of the pupils calculated in months, the degree of science in the fourth grade, the educational level of the parents, a test of tribal visual thinking skills, and to achieve the goal of the research, two tools were prepared, the first: an achievement test in the science subject in its final form of (25) paragraphs, and it was characterized by honesty and stability, which amounted to (0.80) using the Couder-Richardson equation (20). As for the second tool, it is a test of visual thinking skills prepared by Abu Laila (2017). The two researchers extracted its validity, excellence, and stability, which amounted to (0.82) using the Couder-Richardson equation (20) and it may be in its final form of (26) paragraphs, and after processing the data statistically using the t-test ( T-Test) for two independent samples The results showed the effectiveness of using the color-symbol-picture strategy in the achievement of science subject by fifth-grade pupils and developing their visual thinking skills.
