Detection Entamoeba histolytica infection in Mosul City and study of the effect of some factors on it

This study represents a survey on Entamoeba histolytica infection as one of causative agents of diarrhea in attended patient to some hospitals in Mosul city and some private laboratories at a period from October 2011 on the end September 2012.
Examination of 250 stool specimens and parsony their ages arranged between (less than one year – 20 year), showed 60% infection with Entamoeba histolytica. Higher percentage of infection recorded in patient of 5-9 years old, which reached to 20% in male , while the lower percentage of infection recorded in patient (less than one year), which reached to 4% in female.
The study also shows a relation ship between infection rate & Living level in different age groups, since highest infection rate was recorded in 5-9 years age group with good & medium living level, which reached the 13.3% & 11.3% respectively, but the infection rate decline to 0.6% in the age group (less than one year) with good living level.
The results of study show also the highest rate of infection with this parasite in June and November, so it reach 16.6% in both monthly but the lowest percentage was recorded in February as 0.6%.

Detection on rhinosinusitis and its relation to age groups of both sexes

Nasal swabs of patients infected with acute and chronic rhinitis and patients infected with rhinitis from AL-Salam and AL-Zahrawy hospitals in a period 0f 7 months by the specialist on ENT ward ,and the results showed that female cases were more than male cases which were 56% , 44% respectively.
The results also showed that 40% of female were infected with rhinitis only and 16% were infected with rhinitis and rhino sinusitis.
The relation between incidence of acute and chronic cases of rhino sinusitis in different age groups in both sexes was studied and the results showed predominance of chronic infection in age groups between 46-50 years, 51-55 years with regard of both male and females and the age group of 41-45 years was the highest percent of infection with sinusitis with equal percent of acute and chronic rhinitis for females.

Detection of the ability of isolated Enterobacter sakazakii from powdered milk for enterotoxins production

This study includes isolation & identification of bacteria from (35) different kinds of powdered infant formula milk involoved (Dialak 1-2, Celia 1, Hery 1-2, Biomil 1-2, Albadees 2, Nido 2, Kikose 2, Nictalia 1-2, Cerilak). The results show (10) different isolates of germs at apercentage of 28.57% distributed as 8.57% for Escherichia coli & 5.71% for each Enterobacter sakazakii and also for Klebsiella pneumoniae reguensee, while the isolates of Aeromonas veronii, Aeromonas hydrophilia, Shigella desentri was 2.85% for each one of them.
We detected toxins of Enterobacter sakazakii in eather cell free culture supernatant (CFCS) and also in lysate supernatant (LS) by used suckling mouse test which gives apositive result for Rapid & Delayed permeability test by appear non keratinize blue aerea on Rabbit skin for detection of Heat -Stable Enterotoxin and also used pow Oedema test for detection of Heat-Labile Enterotoxin for Enterobacter sakazakii which gives apositive result by appear biymp in anterior and posterior hand of mouse compired with the control.
